My Bulletproof Smoothie Recipe plus a Paleo Mod

So many people have asked me for my magic smoothie recipe that I decided I would just post it.  It’s energy boosting, appetite suppressing and blood sugar regulating.  It will also keep you in ketosis if that’s your goal.    I’ve  included a Paleo mod to the for those of you who aren’t following strict bulletproof guidelines.  It’s more carb friendly and I find it works excellent for athletes.  And finally, make sure to chew your smoothie because digestion begins in the mouth with the enzymes amylase, lipase, and protease.  In most body is not designed to ingest liquid food.  (If you’re a vampire just go ahead and drink.)

  • Half can of coconut milk or coconut cream for more fat. 
  • 2 egg yolks.  Make sure they are organic and pastured.  Leave out the whites which can inhibit Vitamin B absorbtion.
  • 1-2 Tbs MCT oil
  • 1/4 cup frozen spinach or kale (cook lightly for 100% Bulletproof compliance)
  • Almond milk, water, or ice to consistency of choice
  • Erythritol as sweetener to taste
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Blend smoothie then mix in the whey after blending. It is very important not to blend the whey at high speed as it can denature the fragile structure of the protein.

Now for my Paleo Performance Smoothie

  • 1/2 can coconut milk
  • Banana
  • 2 dates
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup frozen berries and/or spinach
  • Raw milk, ice, water or almond milk to consistency of choice
  • 2 scoops grass fed whey protein

Again, do not blend the whey protein.  Mix it in after you have blended all the other ingredients.
